Seriously! I dare you to push yourself in something tomorrow to the point that you fail. CrossFit Armati members…this is inevitable. Fail fast. Fail forward. Unless it’s free solo climbing or skydiving…then please don’t fail.
Failure—it’s a big, bad word that often carries a heavy weight, filled with disappointment and setbacks. Most of us are afraid of it. We can’t stand it. We will do anything to avoid it, so we usually do nothing. But what if I told you that failure is not the opposite of success but rather a crucial stepping stone on the path to it?
In our journey towards our goals and dreams, we will undoubtedly encounter failure along the way. But instead of viewing failure as a roadblock, let’s see it as a necessary part of the process—the fuel that ignites our growth and propels us forward.
Why is failure so important? Because it teaches us valuable lessons that success alone cannot. It builds resilience, perseverance, and character. It forces us to reevaluate our strategies, learn from our mistakes, and come back even stronger. I love to talk to people about keeping a mindset of curiosity. When you hit walls in your pursuits, instead of quitting, get curious and start to think about what you have in your control that can get you through it.
Think of failure as a teacher—one that guides us toward a deeper understanding of ourselves and our pursuits. It reveals our weaknesses and areas for improvement, pushing us to strive for excellence with renewed determination.
Moreover, failure cultivates humility. It reminds us that success is not guaranteed and that we must work tirelessly, continuously pushing the boundaries of what we believe is possible.
But perhaps most importantly, failure breeds innovation and creativity. It encourages us to think outside the box, to try new approaches, and to embrace uncertainty. Some of the greatest inventions, discoveries, and achievements in history have been born out of failure.
So, let’s shift our perspective on failure. Let’s embrace it as an essential part of the journey towards success. Let’s celebrate our failures, knowing that each brings us closer to our goals and dreams. Together, let’s turn our setbacks into stepping stones and our failures into opportunities for growth.
The most successful people you know haven’t managed to avoid failure. They’ve managed to get up and move forward one more time than they’ve failed. The only failure is to never try. Embracing failure, leaning into failure, pushing yourself until you fail…that’s how we#HoldTheStandard
Hold the standard, friends,
